13th July 2016. Heritage Brass held their annual end of season dinner and program at the Jackson’s Point/Georgina Salvation Army Complex. The dinner was held at the Conference Centre. Following the dinner, presentations were made. Major Greg Simmonds was recognized for his service as Band Executive Officer. Major Alf Richardson has resumed that position. Jack Cockhead passed away in the fall of last year. Jack’s children were invited to receive recognition of their Dad’s service to the band. Three new members were recognized, receiving their Heritage Brass pins… Paulette Miller, Keith Bond, and Ken Ritson.
The evening concert was held at the Georgina corps. Included in the program was the Divisional farewell to the candidates. Lt. Col. Sandra Rice (Divisional Commander) led the proceedings, presenting each of the 3 candidates that were present. The major part of the evening was the Heritage Brass Band under their leader Bob Gray. The program was varied and was well received.
