Heritage Brass at Orillia Citadel – September 28/29

Heritage Brass opened their new season of engagements with a weekend visit to Orillia Citadel under the leadership of their new bandmaster, Curtis Metcalf.

The band arrived for a brief sound check, followed by a wonderful hot meal, spouses of the band were also invited.

The evening concert featured a variety of music including a rendering of “Nessun Dorma” by guest Trombone Soloist, Barrington Venables.

Another item of interest was the double cornet trio “Bugler’s Holiday” which included two members from Orillia. Major Mark Hall brought a devotional thought.

Sunday morning saw the band back on duty leading the morning worship service. Again, Major Mark Hall brought a very challenging message. Some of the music of the weekend is shared in this YouTube Playlist.
